Approximately
99 ladies attended APW's annual membership gala and
dinner/fashion show, held at Bakersfield Country Club on
Tuesday, Sept. 18th.
This year's president Paulina Nagatani
welcomed guests, and Gaylan Lindsay Young did the emcee
honors for the fashion show--doing a really terrific job of
making it fun and light--the models enjoyed it as much as the
audience!
Fashions were provided by Erlene's and Pappagallo's,
beautifully worn by eleven of our own APW girls.
Highlight of
the evening -other than the drawings for really great door and
raffle prizes--was the presentation of our annual charity
donation check. This year, Outgoing President Eva Burke
presented a check for $10,000 to The Bethany Homeless Center,
which was gratefully accepted by Louis B. Gill Jr., Executive
Director. Jane Henderson & Elinor Lackzo did an
outstanding job of chairing and coordinating the Gala event!
APW's fall
calendar was unveiled, with a variety of activities scheduled
during upcoming months. The next event is Saturday, September
29th, with a Welcome Back "Margarita Fiesta"
